Services · Expedited
A production line down, a missed shipment, a part that has to be there tomorrow morning. Expedited freight goes direct, door to door, on a vehicle dedicated to your load, and I stay on it until it delivers.

Time-critical freight
Expedited loads move exclusive use: your freight is the only freight on the vehicle, so there are no stops for other shipments and no transfers between trucks. The vehicle is sized to the shipment, so you don’t pay for a 53-foot trailer to move three pallets.
On long runs, team drivers keep the truck moving while one driver rests. A solo driver can drive at most 11 hours a day; a team covers close to twice the distance in the same time. When even that isn’t fast enough, the Landstar network can move freight by air.
Equipment
Smaller vehicles move faster and cost less, so the vehicle is matched to what you’re shipping.
Small, urgent shipments: parts, documents, medical supplies.
Box trucks for mid-size loads, often with a liftgate.
Full loads over long distances, with two drivers so the truck keeps moving.
When ground isn’t fast enough: air express, air cargo or air charter through the Landstar network.

Expedited freight moves exclusive use on its own vehicle, direct from pickup to delivery, without the stops and transfers of standard shipping. It’s for shipments where time matters more than cost.
It depends on distance and the vehicle. A solo driver can drive up to 11 hours a day, so team drivers are used on long runs, and air is the fastest option for the tightest deadlines. Tell me your deadline and I’ll tell you what’s realistic.
It depends on size and weight: cargo vans for small shipments, straight trucks for mid-size loads of around 10–12 pallets, and tractor-trailers for full loads. I match the vehicle to the freight so you don’t pay for space you don’t use.
Usually, yes, because the vehicle is dedicated to your shipment and goes direct. Matching the vehicle size to the freight keeps the cost down.
Transit times depend on distance, traffic, weather and hours-of-service rules. Capacity figures are typical and vary by vehicle.
